MO115 - Shotcrete Technology for Diverse & Cost-Saving Projects

Monday, February 3 from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM « Back

NEW for WOC 2020! This session will investigate the shotcrete industry by examining the cost savings shotcrete provides to general contractors and how those savings are also of value to the owner. Attendees will follow the challenges associated with shotcrete, including weather conditions and creating the proper mix design formulation for a successful result.  Additionally, an exploration of the proper placement techniques for reinforced concrete sections that require multiple layers of concrete will be conducted. Finally, attendees will see current shotcrete projects, both structural and architectural, while defining the future potential of the industry.

1. Explore and define the cost savings of Shotcrete to General Contractors and owners
2. Delineate challenges in shotcreting, how weather conditions and proper mix design formulation can help
3. Identify the placement techniques for building heavily reinforced, thick monolithic concrete sections with multiple layers of shotcrete
4. Explore current project profiles of structural and architectural shotcrete and future potential in the industry
