ASAWE - ASA Shotcrete Contractor Education

Wednesday, January 23 from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM « Back

NEW for WOC 2019! This session is intended for the existing shotcrete contractor pursuing ASA Shotcrete Contractor Education, a requirement for the ASA Contractor Qualification program. However, concrete contractors interested in learning the details and requirements for quality shotcrete placement of structural concrete will find this session highly beneficial. Although a concrete contractor may be thoroughly experienced in form-and-pour concrete construction, shotcrete has fundamentally different equipment, material selection, crew responsibilities, application techniques, testing, curing and protection that need to be considered for producing high-quality and durable shotcrete. This course provides “best practices” for shotcrete contractors looking to grow and increase productivity and quality in their shotcrete applications.

This session also provides a thorough knowledge of shotcrete placement for concrete construction including logistics (site and project), environmental requirements, safety, crew requirements, shotcreting equipment, concrete mixture design, QA/QC, surface preparation, formwork, reinforcements, embedments, placement, finishing, curing, and protection. Course presenters with decades of experience in shotcrete construction will provide insight into details required for successful field shotcrete placement in this highly interactive session.

REGISTRATION INCLUDES boxed lunch and below ACI/ASTM documents:
     • ACI 506.2-13: Specification for Shotcrete
     • ACI 506R-16: Guide to Shotcrete
     • 7 ASTM: Shotcrete-related testing standards compiled in one reference document

IMPORTANT: Qualifying individuals pursuing ASA Contractor Qualification for their company must attend the 7-hour course and take a 90-minute written exam afterwards.

ASAWE Fee: $500; $600 after 12/3/18 (Course only with reference material - no exam)
ASAWEX Fee: $600; $700 after 12/3/18 (Course, reference material, and exam)

Presented by American Shotcrete Association.
